There is just something about fall in Coastal Virginia.
Cooler weather, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, apple cider and a Saturday spent outside with the family—it doesn’t get much better. And the best part? You don’t have to leave the 757 to enjoy all the classic fall fun.
I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pumpkin patches, farms and fall festivals in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton and Yorktown. Before heading out, be sure to check each location’s website or social media for current hours, admission and crop availability.
Best for: A full day of fall fun
Hunt Club Farm’s 2026 Harvest Fair runs September 26–November 1 and includes the petting farm, TreeWalk Adventure and farm-tour hayrides. You’ll also find pumpkins, food, games and plenty of fall activities for the whole family.
The pumpkin patch and Farm Market are also open for those who just want to stop by for a pumpkin and some fall photos.
Best for: A classic Pungo farm experience
Cullipher Farm is a fall favorite for pumpkin picking, apples, sunflowers and its annual corn maze. Add in the farm market, baked goods and cider donuts, and you have everything you need for a perfect fall afternoon.
And honestly, Pungo in the fall is hard to beat!
Best for: Pumpkin picking and family activities
Greenbrier Farms plants 15 acres of pumpkins and offers pumpkin picking, hayrides, a daytime corn maze, fall games and barnyard animals.
Looking for something a little spookier? Their Haunting at Greenbrier Farms begins September 26 for older kids and adults looking for a nighttime haunted experience.
Best for: Younger kids
Hickory Ridge offers pumpkin picking, a corn maze, a toddler corn maze, tractor rides and a petting zoo. Fall treats like cider, donuts and kettle corn make this an easy choice for a family afternoon.
Best for: Corn maze + animals + treats
Bergey’s is a Chesapeake fall classic, with pumpkins, a corn maze, wagon rides and a petting farm. Once you’ve made your way through the maze, stop by the Breadbasket for baked goods or ice cream.
Best for: Kids who love to PLAY
This is the place for high-energy fall fun. The 2026 Pumpkin Patch Playland runs September 17–October 31 and features inflatable attractions, with hayrides available for an additional fee.
Best for: Pumpkins and a Pungo afternoon
Flanagan Farm offers wagon rides, a U-pick pumpkin patch, a corn maze and a straw maze for younger children. It’s another great stop to add to a Pungo fall day.
Best for: A fall day trip
Bakers Acres offers pumpkins, seasonal U-pick activities, a corn maze and a special glow-in-the-dark maze. It’s worth the drive to Suffolk for families looking for something a little different.
Best for: A true fall festival
The 2026 Fall Festival is October 17–18 and includes hayrides, live music, games, storytelling, seasonal food, a pumpkin patch and more. It’s a great choice when you want more of a festival atmosphere.
Best for: A charming fall day
October 10–11, 2026, Riverwalk Landing comes alive with local vendors, pumpkins, mums, kettle corn, a petting zoo, face painting and a hay maze. Sunday also includes pumpkin painting and hayrides.
One of my favorite things about living in Coastal Virginia is that we don’t have to travel far to make great family memories.
Pick a pumpkin, get lost in a corn maze, grab some apple cider and enjoy a beautiful fall afternoon right here in the 757.
🍂Happy fall, y’all!🍂
